Its HOT in Kansas! COOL DOWN!
This past week has been full of emotion! The pressure of this competition is starting to push on my shoulders more than it should. It has been a wonderful experience training Tucker, even with the ups and downs. However, the stress of trying to keep up with his training, my business, and family is weighing me down. Life is good though and God is giving me the strength to fit it all in and get each day done, one day at a time. Good friends and family are surrounding me and it still amazes me how many people support me with this quest to train another mustang in 100 days! It seems like such a unworthy cause for so many people to go out of there way to encourage me emotionally, physically, and financially. Don’t get me wrong, the mustangs need us, I just sometimes feel like this takes so much of my time, my loved ones get less of me. I am a little nervous I only have two weeks or so left until the makeover and yet glad it is almost here so to get the pressure of working Tuck twice a day and loosing sleep over what my freestyle should be. I guess I am rambling a little. So tired!!!
This past weekend I hosted a ACTHA competitive trail ride! It was a great success. Alot of hard work, but worth the effort. Got to meet some new friends and have a great weekend riding the trails in Kansas. Tucker needed to get out of the arena!!! It is so awesome to see the changes in him after putting about 25 trail miles on him. Our horses that we work so hard to train how to do all these amazing performance maneuvers get tired of going in circles! In fact I was tired of going in circles and it was great to get out into God’s world and teach Tucker on the trails. He learned so much and in just three days of trail riding came home a more relaxed horse with less resistance and arguments. My ride on him this morning was great! He is ready to start practicing obstacles and my freestyle pattern, which at this moment I have no music for or the pattern put together. I just haven’t settled on anything this time. Do you guys like the music I have been using for my video blogs? It is Toby Mac. I am thinking about using his music for the freestyle? What do you think?

Week 10 was full of frustration and excitement. The beginning of the week was a little tough as Tucker decided he would much rather go back to the barn/gate than go forward and work. So we spent alot of time doing serpentines and circles until he wanted to go forward. When a horse is dealing with barn or buddy sourness, you want to replace the behaviour we don’t want, with a behavior we do want. So when Tucker would stop at the gate and refuse to go forward, I would ask him to work hard at trotting serpentines. When I asked him to go forward again and leave the gate he would make a choice that would give him a release from the hard work of serpentines or choose to resist and have to go back to work. Pretty soon he realized it is a lot less work to just go forward. It was a tough three days of work, but by the end of the week things really started looking up and he was doing much better!!
At the end of the week I took him to a Ranch rodeo and UHCA Cowboy race! He did great around the crowds and cows and rowdy cowboys and cowgirls!! It was blazing hot, but we had a great weekend!!
I learn so much through these mustang makeovers. I learn how to be a better trainer as these amazing horses teach me so much about patience and perseverance. They also teach me how to let go and love. Tucker is fitting into my family so well. Ryan and I have been puzzled to why this beautiful buckskin was never adopted through the BLM program. However, all I can say is God made us for each other and with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!! Luke 18:27

Lets Play
Vacation is something my whole family looks forward to every summer. It has become a tradition to go to Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. We spend a few days on the lake boating, jet skiing, and simply relaxing by the water 24/7!! This is usually my horse free week!!! NO CHORES, NO MANURE, NO WORK!!! YEAH!! However, this year “SUPREME EXTREME MUSTANG MAKEOVER”, so Tucker came with us on vacation. I spent the mornings with Tucker at a really nice facility near the Lake. Markway Arena is a great place to ride at and the people were so kind and friendly. We had a great time. Tucker is learning to travel well.
Tucker did great this past week. I desentized him to spurs and started the finishing cues that I will need to build his upper level performance. He has learned so much so fast that he gets a little confused sometimes with which command I am asking for exactly. At times he is a little like a drunk horse, but he will figure it out and come together!! It was great having focused time to give only to my horses, so my vacation was great to!! I am very blessed to be able to have such a great job and family. My afternoons and evenings were spent enjoying my husband, children, and friends. It was great!!
Back home we came and now the hardest month of training begins. We are at the final push to the makeover and Tucker and I will needs God’s strength and endurance to make it! Thank you to all my fans, friends, and family who have us in there prayers and the other trainers too! We need it. Also pray for my friends supreme mustang that is hurt and might not be able to compete, keep him in your prayers for quick healing and safety!
God bless you guys!!

WOW!! Talk about a roller coaster of a week! Tucker has made remarkable progress this week! I am so proud of him and his pure attitude to keep on keeping on. He is so willing to learn and try to do anything to please me. The only time I have had trouble with him is when he is afraid of something and decides it is not safe for either one of us. It is like he goes into protection mode, forgets I am there and just fights for us. Well, this week he is really starting to look to me before he reacts to his fear. He truly is a amazing horse. I never thought I would find another horse as loving as my 2007 EMM mustang Joshua. However, Tucker loves people, especially me.
He has a protective way about him that is very confident and controlled. He is the type of horse that would fight for me if need be. I am so glad to see him learn to control this instinct and look to me for leadership when he is afraid.
Last week was a rough one, but that is really how training a horse goes. You always have ups and downs, curves, and u-turns. How great it is that roller coasters just keep on going and going. Tucker and I will never stop learning. We will have good and bad days, but we will be together on down the trails of life. God has made His trail for us so clear. At times I struggle to lift my feet, but God swoops down and carries me on down the trail.
Next week I am going on vacation with my family!! AND guess what? Tucker is coming with us! I am boarding him so we can keep on keeping on. The clock is counting down to the SUPREME EXTREME, CAN’T GO ON VACATION WITH OUT HIM!
