As I reflect back over the past three months I have allot of mixed emotions! Following Gods path for my life is always my goal; although I tend to lean on my own understandings some times and try to forge a different path on my own strength. The trail on my own is bumpy and hard work! So looking into the future after the SEMM is scary if I look towards the trail that is alone. Gods path in my eyes seems harder than the path I had in mind; but the reality is that any path that isn’t Gods direction is the wrong path and will just get me lost. When any of us day dream about the possibility of receiving a large amount of money, we see endless possibilities. So even though my commitment to this adventure had so much more to do with everything but money, the idea of winning it gave me hope to a brighter future.
I have done allot of pondering and soul searching to seek out Gods direction and look at the lessons learned from this adventure in my life. I realized that God needed to teach me how to really trust in him and make a better financial plan for my family that required me to work at making it work better than it has in the past. Being more responsible with the provisions he provides us on a daily basis. His plan for me was exactly what I told him I was willing to do. Make myself available to show His love to all around me and allow Him to use me for his service not my own. And coming out of this Makeover experience I have no Regrets which is a personal victory for me. I had a great time, enjoyed my husband, children, and the many freinds and family that came to Fort Worth to support Tucker and I. I didn’t allow the fears of failure or the pressure of the money ruin my experience. Trust and faith remains the two key elements that give me peace.
In the process of making over a wild horse into a trusting partner, the horse has to have an internal battle with himself to face his fears and trust a greater power to provide his needs and keep him safe. If the horse resists the gift of partnership and provisions his life becomes full of worries and hard work trying to succeed on his own. The day and moment he decides to let go of his fears and learn to trust is the first day in his life of faith in a new idea of what life may be all about. Trust comes from following that new faith and depending on that greater power in his life to renew his strength and help him find peace. The growing partnership starts with a step of faith and then builds into a trusting partnership! How parrallel that is to how God works in our lives. Gods amazing grace wipes away our mistakes and our past with the blood his son, Jesus Christ shed on the cross. The victory in his death is that he rose from the dead to lead us into an eternal life with him by our side here on earth and then us at his side in an eternity in heaven with Him! When we make the choice to ask forgivness for our past mistakes and believe and accept his gift to us, we then have a trusting leader to direct us on the straightest trails of life because he will be leading the way and will never forsake us!
Proverbs 3:5&6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understandings, in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall make your trails straight!

Life has been pretty stressful over the past couple of weeks. Push, push, push, is the feeling I get every second my eyes are open. If I could I would be in the saddle all day long, but Tucker would be a little against that. So I ride am and pm and spend time with him letting him graze or grooming him. My focus has been puting him and this competition right under God and my family! I fight the burden of worry and try to look to God for His strength and comfort. I am looking to Him to “make my paths(trails) straight”. He already knows the future, I have to trust in Him. Tucker and I are allot alike. He has a hard time letting me have the reins 100% of the time. He is about 50/50 on listening or trying to make his own path. He needs to just let me have the reins, follow my cues, and take the path of trust. I need to let God have the reins, follow his direction, and take the path of trust! WOW!! We leave for the Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover in 10 DAYS!! As I look back at the past three months it seems like one of the longest and yet shortest three months of my life?!? It has been long and grueling hours of gentling and training Tucker. He started out winding his way into my heart peering at me through my computer screen straight into my soul. Is it possible to know that this is your horse the first time you see them? I did and he has become a perfect partner for me. I was asked this weekend, “So, you like those mustangs, do you?” I just smiled and said, “ABSOLUTELY!!” I am proud of my mustangs as they are living examples of what an legendary American Mustang can become.
This past week I have been focusing on putting on the finishing touches of Tucker’s training. He has been struggling some with gate and buddy sourness still, but starting to realize it is much easier to respond willingly to my aids than resist and have to work harder. My goal this next week is to get him smoother in transitions and lighter off the leg and rein. My freestyle has started to come together, including my music. I have been asked allot lately if Tuck and I are ready? My response is “ask me in 10 days!!” I am taking one day, one ride at time and making every moment count with Tucker. He has found his way into my heart and I in his. I am praying we will melt together at the competition and both of us let go of our worries and our past! All things are possible…..!!Luke 18:27
This weekend Tucker & I went with some of my students to the Craig Cameron Extreme Cowboy Race in Olathe, Kansas! It was an awesome weekend getting Tuck more exposure to crowds and obsticles. My students did great and I am so proud of them! Go Rockin RC Extreme Trail Team!!
