R&D Ranch History and Mission Statement
The R&D Ranch LLC in Topeka, Kansas Owned and managed by Bill and Sharon Reed has offered
boarding and riding opportunities for the past 23 years. There mission has been and is to provide a
safe and clean facility to board, care for, ride, and enjoy horses. This Equine facility includes 30 acres,
the main house and newly renovated trainers home, four barns including 40 stalls, 2 indoor wash racks,
loafing shed, hay barn, work shop, and Large indoor and outdoor arenas.
It didn’t all start out this way, purchasing the property in 1985 with just 8 acres the Reeds didn’t realize
the dream that was going to unfold before them over the next 23 years. It all looked very different
then. Included were several out buildings. All used for storage, none with stalls or animals. Included
were the “long” and “small” barns, the half-burned workshop, a garden shed, a cattle shed and the main
house. Little fencing was present. They hauled water for personal and business use. A young women
stopped by one day and asked if she could rent out the “small” barn in exchange for labor, really a
storage building and cow barn, for her horse. When the Reeds agreed they didn’t realize this was the
start of a successful and growing business. With a lot of hard work and commitment of cleanliness and
safety for the horse, Bill and Sharon Reed have built a legacy that will bless horseman for years to come.
In, 2006 Cindy Branham, Certified Trainer/Clinician of the Rockin RC LLC, began training, giving private
training sessions, and offering clinics at the R&D Ranch. In 2008 the Reeds invited Cindy, and her
husband Ryan, and children to move onto the ranch to become co-managers and to make Cindy the
Resident Trainer. This partnership has opened up amazing possibilities. “The R&D Ranch is the
cleanest facility I have ever worked at. With a fabulous equine facility in my back yard, I couldn’t be more
proud to live here. It is a place where we come together as friends and family to enjoy our horses

The R&D Ranch offers boarding, riding memberships, Cindy’s training, clinic, and lesson program. The
R&D Ranch also offers dressage clinics. One of the many benefits of the R&D Ranch is that boarders
have the option to have there horse taken care of completely by the staff of R&D Ranch or they can
share the responsibility and save some money feeding, turning out, and cleaning there own horses
stall. We also offer a money and time saving Loafing shed and paddock boarding. All the horses of the
R&D Ranch have all day turnout with options of private or semi-private paddocks, or group pasture
turnout. Not many boarding facilities offer this many choices in there horses care.
